Am I the only one to find that people driving so called 4x4s seem to slow down to a crawl or stop at the first sight of a small puddle when floods have been announced? I was under the impression that these vehicles could go over any terrain. If not what is the purpose of buying them?
Fact: You can't call it a flood unless when driving through it you get a sheet of water over your windscreen produced by your own car.
By the way the only abandoned cars I saw this morning were a Rover and a Mini. Hmmm. Any connection. Not sure whether it was the water or just a general disgust at owning one.
As an aside, have you also noticed that most 4x4s parked in supermarket carparks are positioned at 45 degrees to the space markings taking up at least 2 normal spaces. If you can't manoeuvre one get yourself a car you can. They are not just status symbols.
